Safety guidance and prohibited-listing rules for buying, selling, renting, jobs and services in Malta
Before paying
Inspect the item, verify key details and make sure the person and listing match the conversation. Be cautious with urgency, unusual payment requests, prices far below normal market levels or requests to move immediately to an untraceable channel.
Meeting safely
Meet in a public place when practical. For high-value items, consider bringing another person and verify serial numbers or ownership documents where appropriate. Do not publish your exact home address in a listing.
Property
Verify ownership or authorised agency status, viewing arrangements, deposits and written contracts independently. Do not transfer deposits solely because a listing appears on Pazar Malta.
Jobs and services
Do not pay a person merely to be considered for a job. Check the employer or service provider and any licences or registrations relevant to the work.
Report concerns
Use the Report action on a listing or user when something appears fraudulent, unsafe, illegal, misleading or abusive. For immediate danger or suspected crime, contact the appropriate Maltese authorities.
Marketplace listings are user-submitted. Verify important details independently before you pay, sign or travel.
