Marketplace Safety
Practical guidance for buying, selling, renting, jobs and services.
Before paying or committing
Inspect the item or service, verify important details and make sure the person and listing match the conversation. Treat urgency, unusual payment methods, off-platform pressure and prices far below normal market levels as warning signs.
Meet safely
Meet in a public place where practical. For high-value items, consider bringing another person and verify serial numbers, ownership or relevant documents. Do not publish passwords, identity documents, payment-card data or an exact private home address in a listing or chat.
Property, jobs and services
For property, independently verify ownership or authorised agency status, deposits and contracts. For jobs and services, verify the employer/provider and any licence or registration relevant to the activity. Do not pay merely to be considered for a job.
Prohibited and illegal content
Counterfeit or stolen goods, illegal drugs, unlawful weapons, scams, discriminatory unlawful content, intellectual-property infringement and other illegal goods/services are not permitted. See the Acceptable Use / Prohibited Items Policy.
Product recalls and Safety Gate
Before buying or listing a consumer product, check whether it has been recalled or identified as dangerous. EU product-safety information is available from the European Commission product-safety and Safety Gate resources.
Report concerns and urgent threats
Use the listing Report action or the Illegal Content Notice page. An account is not required. The notice form has priority categories for immediate threats to life or physical safety, child sexual abuse or exploitation, and human trafficking or exploitation. Do not upload or redistribute illegal abuse material. If someone is in immediate danger in Malta or elsewhere in the EU, call 112 immediately.
Pazar Malta is a marketplace intermediary, not a guarantee of a listing, seller, buyer or transaction. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded by this guidance.
